Nuke the Fridge?
I have this thing about movies that are universally panned. I must see them. Catwoman, Gigli, The Postman. We call it “bad movie night”. (Not that original, I know.) Because I like to see for myself if something sucks as much as everyone on the planet insists. Usually they’re right. I couldn’t even finish Gigli. I’m still baffled by it. That the actors, many that have actually done quality work & one even got an Oscar for writing, could read the lines on the page for that movie and think, “Yeah! This will be great!”
But I haven’t seen Indian Jones and the Crystal Skull yet. I saw the Stargate episode with crystal skulls though. And a few specials on the Discovery channel about them. Guess what. Ancient aliens made them. It’s on the Discovery channel, so it must be true. So I wasn’t to surprised when that was a major part of the story. I do plan on seeing it, however. They brought back Maryann and he’s got a pain in the ass son. That’s got to be some fun, right?
However, I’m rethinking even starting the movie because I read something extremely disturbing in a CNN article. (Link: HERE!) They put Indy in a fridge and he gets nuked.
Is that a metaphor? I hope it’s a metaphor. The decision now is do I really want to see that happen or do I want to live in blissful ignorance and pretend Speilberg meant something, anything, else.
